1. Who we are
Orbital ("we", "us") provides a platform to discover and organize local events. We're the controller of personal data you provide when using the Service.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password hash, avatar.
- Profile data: city, interests, bio (only what you choose to share).
- Event data: events you create, join, save, or comment on.
- Location: when you opt-in to "Near me", we use your coordinates client-side to filter results — we don't store them server-side.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, and basic usage analytics.
- Payment data: handled directly by Stripe. We never store full card details.
3. How we use data
- To operate the Service and personalize your experience.
- To facilitate communication between participants and organizers.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To prevent abuse, fraud, and to enforce our Terms.
- To send transactional emails. Marketing emails only if you opt in.
4. Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with: (a) service providers (hosting, payment, email) under data-processing agreements; (b) other users to the extent your profile is public; (c) authorities when legally required.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time from your profile settings.
6. Your rights (GDPR / FADP)
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, restrict processing, and object to certain uses. Email support@orbital-app.com to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and row-level data access controls. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside Switzerland or the EU. Where required, transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses.
9. Children
Orbital is not intended for users under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
